Great menu, food portions, atmosphere, and service. It’s been a good 10 years since I’ve been here, and it’s only changed for the better. St patty’s day is as good post Covid as it ever was. Free breakfast at 7am sharp. Food and drink specials, Irish dancers. Top notch. The bangers and mash was the best I’ve ever had, with that splash of French onion 😍. Stubby, you are a legend.
This is a cute little sports bar, right in Lancaster. They only offer a menu with handheld sandwiches on it. They do not offer plates of food you need a fork and knife to eat. I had the chicken parmigiana sandwich. It came out really good and with a good portion of chips. I would definitely order it again. Tv placement wasn’t the best for trying to watch the game, but we made it work. The service was a bit slow, but it also was super busy for the first eagles game of the season. The restroom was clean, however if you use the stalls, it takes brushing up against the backs of those standing at the urinal to get out. The restaurant was clean and there was no real wait to sit down. Parking is all street parking, which at the time I arrived, I found no issue finding parking. I would definitely return if I’m back in the area.
Here's the thing, Stubby's is everything you want in a neighborhood bar. The menu is consistently good. I would recommend the wings with Cajun seasonings and medium hot sauce mixed. It's not advertised but Chip's drink is the best mixed drink. And to go with that, Chip is the absolute best bar tender. If you've ever watched Cheers and thought 'I wish there was a place like that near me." Good news! There is! Get yourself to Stubby's.
Best perogies I've ever had!
Bartenders were super friendly, helpful on food choices, attentive to refilling our drinks. Great crowd watching the Eagles game last night. Great neighborhood bar. We'll be back if in this area again!
Lancaster City Location: They talk the talk and walk the walk when it comes to their Ultimate Cheese Fries. They fulfill the description, especially the "ultimate" word usage, by truly layering a blend of cheeses and meats through the layers of an oversized mound of fresh cut fries. There was no skimping and this sharable dish rightfully deserves a five star rating! There were two of us and we shared the full portion. We were going to order stromboli too but there was no way we could do it after indulging in the fries. Of course we chose ranch for dipping. I should've asked for extra ranch considering the large portion of food. Ketchup was good on them as well. I find many times, whether it's cheese fries or nachos on restaurant menus, that various restaurants' kitchen staff puts cheese on the top of a dish and it's not layered, and you end up paying for a plate full of plain fries or tortilla chips underneath the top layer which is a bummer, especially when advertised as loaded or ultimate, or whatever! NOT Stubby's!!!! They deliver!
Stubby’s is our local place to grab late night food and it never disappoints! Their appetizers are fantastic (especially the onion rings and mozzarella sticks) and their drinks are always well made! We even have come here just for dinner a few times and have always had a good experience with both the food and drinks being delicious and the service being quick and friendly. Definitely recommend if you’re in this part of town!
Just moved to the area and was looking for a neighborhood bar to grab drinks while watching the game. So happy we tried this place out because the service and food was great (the onion rings and Stromboli were amazing). We were also impressed with the amount of locals that knew one another and how everyone was classy/respectful (no riff raff). This is our new place to go and the bonus is it's only half a mile walk.
Very underwhelming—- it’s not aesthetically pleasing and it gave me like there’s possibly rodent vibes but that is besides the point… I was (obviously) very different from the population they serve, but the servers communicated with me as little as possible. . . I ordered chili and it was not hot, just warm… the fries are ordered were fresh cut and hot… I paid, left and didn’t even hear a goodbye or thank you… I don’t know just a strange experience… I was giving this place a try because I’m in town for work and the reviews were okay— I was unimpressed and wished there would have been more engagement even if I was different than the rest of the crowd. Anyway here are the pics of the food…
